Nast'aliq Script

Nast’aliq  is one of the principal scripts of Islamic calligraphy. It was developed in Iran in the 14th and 15th centuries and has been popular in Persian, Turkic, and South Asian regions. Nast’aliq has been practised extensively in Iran and Afghanistan as a form of art and is popular for writing Persian, Pashto and Urdu.

Nast’aliq  script is one of the most fluid calligraphy scripts. It has short verticals with exaggeratedly long horizontal strokes. Its vertical strokes lean to the right rather than (as is more common) to the left, making Nast'aliq writing flow particularly well.
