Arzu

Arzu, meaning hope in Dari, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides sustainable income to Afghan women by sourcing and selling the rugs they weave. Started in 2004, Arzu works with over 700 women weavers in 9 rural villages in Afghanistan including Kabul, Andkhoi, and Bamiyan.

Arzu rugs are 100% hand made with natural vegetable dyes. The four rug collections (Couture, Traditional, Tribal, and Modern) showcase the unmatchable and exquisite talents of Afghan women weavers.

Arzu helps weavers and their families break the cycle of poverty by providing them above market compensation and access to education and health care. There are approximately 2,050 people in Arzu’s program.

An Arzu rug is an investment in hope.
